    Giuseppe Arcimboldo was the first Surrealist.

    That statement may be as accurate
    as it is profound.

    1. I agree with the statement but would add one word:
      Giuseppe Arcimboldo was the first Surrealist painter .
      The 16th Century Italian needed only two dimensions
      to create his art.

      His 21st Century protege did a commendable job
      with three dimensions and a set of carving knives.
