Who is that woman?
ReplyDelete"That woman" is actually a self-standing metal-sheet sculpture measuring approximately 40' x 20' x 3" with a chalk-like outline
Deleteof a female face.
Small triangular cut-outs make the adjacent
waterfront apartment building visible.
Her male counterpart...is much smaller.
I will do my best to identify the sculptor but to describe the city of Long Beach as part-alfresco museum...is an understatement.
Did you find the artist/sculptor yet????
ReplyDeleteI will identify the sculptor as soon as I re-visit That Woman.
DeleteThe above description of That Woman was based
ReplyDeleteon a memory of a late-night 20006 photo shoot.
The memory is grossly inaccurate.
Here are the facts: Ned Smyth is the sculptor.
That Woman is one of three self-standing sculptures.
"The Dream Of Simultaneous Connection"
is a steel, stucco, stone and glass mosaic
measuring 26' x 288' x 100'
Please post the photo of the entire sculpture, which you have enhanced so fetchingly
ReplyDeleteI have just posted post a stock image of 1/3 of
ReplyDelete"The Dream of Simultaneous Connection."
The complete dimensions of That Woman
can now be found in the 2-DIE-4 PHOTO GALLERY
which is viewable if you scroll down from this page.
