Lewis Carroll
as the latter, he wrote
Alice in Wonderland
In 1890,when he received letters addressed to
‘CL Dodgson’ talking about Lewis Carroll
he returned them with a notice...
called the Stranger Circular.
This notice, written from Christ Church College
at the University of Oxford, said:
“Mr Dodgson . . . neither claims nor
acknowledges any connection with
any pseudonym or with any book
not published under his own name.”
