on the Occasion of the demolition of the Domino Sugar Refining Plan
The site is the former Domino Sugar Factory (Williamsburg, Brooklyn).
The photographer is, presumably, the artist Kara E. Walker.

The sugar-coated sphinx is on exhibit until July 10, 2014.
