A Tree Named Bareleaf

Up against the wall
                                                        

With a patch
of faded grass
at his feet


Bareleaf sleeps 
on a vertical
bed of concrete 

But now the sun is shining.

      Perserverence would have been a better title
      but I settled on a geographic name
      that could have been
      "The H Road"
