From New Yorker Magazine

“Untitled (C-1189)” (2012), by Marco Breuer

This photograph,
from yesterday's
on-line New Yorker,
is part of an exhibit
entitled

WHAT
IS

PHOTOGRAPH?

I do not really know
the answer to that question
but I do know a good photograph
when I see one.

The next New Yorker page is here.

  1. First, photography supplanted painting, realer than real.
    And then came the reel.
Then the painter fled the real.
Now, the photographer flees the real.

any good photograph that looks like it
      is a painting.
