In the winter of 1970,
ReplyDeleteone of the rooms in our Rocky Point house
was rented by a Stonybrook University
grad student...
One night,
he came home raving about
a Kurt Vonnegut recital
for Literature Ph.D students/staff.
He made it sound like he had been
to a Jimi Hendrix concert.
"...Vonnegut could have had any woman he wanted..."
The next night, the grad student was forlorn:
One of the women that KV "had"
was the grad student's ex-wife.
