Fear's Got Cousins (Poem # Whateva )

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Fear’s got cousins
By the dozens

They will throw you
In a hole
Unless you
Are in control

When FEAR
Is all you can eat
It’ll grab you
By the feet

Let me tell ya
Let me warn ya
Fear’s doppelganger
Is Paranoia

But I can't shout this
In a tent revival:
In moderation, Fear is
Needed for survival

Keep it in a
Small portion
And you can
call it Caution

On My Father's 35th Birthday, DP Met GV

_____________________________________________________________________________________

At Sardi's in New York...

[I met] Gore Vidal–Luciferian-looking young man who called a couple of times.
Very gifted, brilliant and fixed in facility as I am.
Dawn Powell Diaries
March 11, 1954

Exactly seven months later, 11 October 1954, Tim Page was born. On that day,
my Father celebrated the eighth birthday of the most precious jewel in his life: Linda Oliverio.
Mr. Page is the editor and biographer of Dawn Powell.

It has been said that Mr. Vidal was channeling Ms. Powell when he said
"Andy Warhol is the only genius I've ever known with an I.Q. of 60."

Footnotes
Only on the most transcendental levels do I believe there is a connection between
my father & my sister's birthday and the life of Dawn Powell. But the coincidence
is an invisibly precious jewel.

The next Dawn Powell page is here.

A Peachy Poem

_____________________________________________________________________________________

Gee I am a tree
My peaches I give to thee

I must absorb
As you pluck the orb
Taken in haste
To satisfy your taste.

Or when stripped in bulk
I do not sulk
With saddened head
As offspring pyramid on flatbed

To market they’re bound
Succulent and round
Nutritiously able
For anyone’s table

My purpose is served
When fruit lust is observed.

From my crown to my feet
I wish you bon appetit.

Stilted Talk

_____________________________________________________________________________________

A visitor looks at "Les cinq peintres" (The five painters), a work of French painter Felix Vallotton

The painters are having such a deep philosophical discussion, their heavy thoughts tilt the frame.
