Musicians exist first and foremost...
to enlighten us with their musical talents...
bona fide musical talent...not the kind of talent
you get from your hairdresser.

is a great song but that doesn't mean
you spend most of your time
in the beauty parlor or with your publicity people
and ignore honing your craft.
Now this pathetic creature did nothing but hone her immense talent.
Amy worshipped the Shirelles. She kowtowed to the Ronettes.
Therefore, she knew the true path was Back to Black.
Unfortunately for brilliant young singers, honing your craft can mean
over-exposure to drugs and the death walk.
In Amy's case, that meant NO to rehab.

Regarding the absence of Amy Winehouse and the presence of Sheryl Crow:
it is easy to like a Hyundai when there is no Mercedes on the road.
