Arthur Garfield Dove
ARTHUR DOVE  (1880- 1946)
was an American artist.

An early American Modernist.

He is often considered
the first American
abstract painter.


This exhibit of his work was inspired by 
an abstraction of a 1939 New Yorker
Magazine cover illustration.
